my approach to coaching and mentoring
My coaching approach is quite unique as I use a mix of intuitive coaching along with application of industry wide coaching and growth models. Executive and leadership coaching has been at the core of effective change management throughout my career, and so have many tools and techniques which can be applied depending on your needs. Stakeholder management along with high performing teams is also an area which leaders look to master, especially when managing in times of change and uncertainty.
During coaching, the usual stages of transformation include going through a self awareness phase or self assessment. This can then be followed by visioning and prioritising goals that are meaningful to you whilst also being conscious of mindset shifts along with understanding emotional or behavioural strategies for peak performance. Understanding your current state, and designing your “to be” target state is something we can focus on, or if you already know what you want, a strategic action plan can be developed based on measurable outcomes that you want to achieve. It’s always important to remember your “why” and so my role is threefold, to coach you, but also to support and guide you towards achieving your goals. Just remember, you can do it!
Depending on your needs, we can be flexible in using conventional leadership development or we could focus on exploring emotional intelligence, balance, energy and corporate resilience. Or you may have a simple personal or professional goal you would like to conquer such as improving your confidence in landing that overseas job you’ve always wanted! Whatever you want, know it is possible, by starting with simple steps…
How will COACHING WORK?
A session is usually 60 minutes which can either be face to face, or via a video conference call using “Zoom.” Depending on your level and degree of transformation, there are different options you could think about here.
During the initial call, we could get into goal setting, followed by a weekly or fortnightly plan on actions or guidance before our next call. Perhaps take a checkpoint of the level of commitment and time you’re willing to put into your goals as part of my role is also to encourage accountability and action. We can take regular checkpoints to ensure you’re on the right track and support is available in between sessions to keep you going.
